Nelson Way Incident - 17/02/2026

Humberside Police are investigating a report of two persons using what was described as a longbow with arrows on the green area on Nelson Way opposite Romsey Court. This area is popular with dog walkers and passing vehicles.

The incident occurred on Tuesday 17/02/2026 between 3:15-3:45pm. The report describes two persons on the green, and at one stage climbed a tree where they were firing the arrows from the crossbow onto the green area. Just to reassure you all, the report describes that they were not aiming the arrows at any members of public or at any residential properties and it appears that they were probably just playing around, but nevertheless they were in possession of a weapon in a public place that could have caused harm. They were seen to leave the area on foot on Nelson Way towards the direction of Victory Way. They are described as mid to late teens, wearing dark clothing and as they left the area the bow was concealed in a black coloured bag.
